To be frank, many companies in the storage industry define ‘climate controlled’ in different ways. For some it simply means temperature controlled and a subset of those are simply referring to baseline heating in the winter (just enough so your items don’t freeze). Some have even gone to the trouble of installing air conditioning units which themselves don’t affect humidity.
Not to get too technical, but most of our personal belongings are "hygroscopic" - which means something that tends to absorb moisture from the air. While most belongings are hygroscopic to a certain degree, it is especially concerning to items like:
